The Living LibraryUrban Planning Studio | Professor Claudia Cueto | 10 weeks
What do you have when the information being learned is no longer from the past, such as in a library, but instead is being created new, in the present? You have a living library, a home to collaboration, education, and spaces to exercise the mind. Our Innovation Neighborhood proposal links buildings to people and people to a collective of information. A Living Library is an environment where the collective knowledge grows everyday. This is facilitated by weaving multiple disciplines together in spaces that promote communication to generate ideas that impact locally, regionally, and globally. Just as 30th St. Station stands as the Northeast hub of transportation, our master plan creates a hub of information sharing and innovation spaces, situated in the heart of Philadelphia.
